The French Ambassador in Ethiopia, Remi Marechaux this week meets with Semera University President Dr. Mohammed Ousman in Addis Ababa where the former expressed his country’s interest to open a French corner at the University to teach French language.
The two parties have discussed on collaborations with regards to supporting the University in capacity building in areas such as education and training, according to the information the Afar Communications Service disseminated.
Ambassador Remi has indicated he will reach to the research centers in his country and facilitate collaborations with Semera University and the need to open French Corner at the University where interested students can study French language.
It is stated that the discussion also focused on mining, tourism and agriculture sectors, which Semera University is currently working to serve as a center of excellence. The French Ambassador has expressed his country’s interest to support the University to become center of excellence in those sectors.
It is also stated that recently Semera University, French Embassy, and Djibouti University have signed an agreement to collaborate, according to the report. Semera University is found in Afar region of Ethiopia in the capital, Semera Town.
